The
main unit used for recording at gigs is an Alesis Adat machine. This
is a professional 8 track digital recorder. This gives us sufficient
tracks to be able to master a clear controllable recording that can be
mixed and tweaked after the event.
Microphones used
include the well known Shure SM 57's which are well known as first
class microphones within the recording industry. A seven piece drum
mic kit is used for close micing the drums, or on other occasions over
head micing is used.
The mixing is done on
a PC using Cubasis, the tracks being delivered to the PC via a digital
connection to the recorder.
After mixing and
finalising, the finished tracks are burned to CD's. Enough CD's will
be produced to for each band member to receive a copy. The artwork on
the CD's are produced using photos taken during the gig, plus any
additional artwork you'd like to use. A master CD will also be
produced that contains mp3's of all the tracks plus all photo's taken
at the event being recorded.
Additional CD's can
be produced (at an additional cost) that you can then use as either
demos or to sell at gigs!
